Children’s Miracle Network

The Children’s Ballet Theatre, (CBT) began its fundraising and community service project for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) in 2009. Children with physical disabilities were invited to join the CBT dancers for the Nutcracker production. Because of the wonderful feedback from the CMN Guest Dancers, their parents and members of CBT and the local community, the program carried through to CBT’s spring 2010 show, Shoes with Attitude. By May of 2010, CBT had raised over $1029 for CMN, which was presented at the televised Children’s Miracle Network Giveathon. The success of the project during the 2009-2010 season resulted in continuation into future performances.

While the CMN Guest Dancers learn about the rigors of a professional quality ballet company along with CBT dancers, the children of CBT learn much from the CMN Guest Dancers as well. Lifelong lessons and friendships have been developed. Together, all the children dance side by side, with CMN Guest Dancers showing that inspiration to be a performer comes from the heart.
